My Story
Janay` Morgan Mallon is a multidisciplinary Artist, Poet, Author, Actress, and Classically Trained Lyric Coloratura Soprano whose lifelong creative journey began with a haiku published nationally while still in middle school. Raised in Millville, NJ, she graduated from the Arts Creates Excellence program at the age of 14 and found early belonging on stage through choir, theater, and musicals. Her deep love for literature, music, and the visual arts became both passion and refuge, shaping her identity and ultimately saving her life.

Janay` earned dual B.A. degrees in Music Education and Voice from Rowan University, where she was mentored by esteemed soprano Marian Stieber and trained to perform at a master’s level. Her senior recital featured advanced repertoire, including the entire Libby Larsen’s "Try Me, Good King" Cycle. While attending University, Janay` experienced the stage from the director’s chair for a youth theater in Pitman, NJ, and led choral programs like the Singing Ambassadors of Vineland. Janay` also composed and premiered a children’s choral piece in honor of her younger sister.
Following university, Janay` embarked on a transformative journey of spiritual seeking and artistic exploration — performing, composing, and mentoring across the Southwest. Her performance credits range from solo recitals at the Loretta Chapel in Santa Fe to daring original works, including a live private performance while suspended upside down.

After the passing of her husband, artist Gagoghs (A.K.A. VonPat), in May of 2024, Janay` embraced writing as a new lifeline. In 2023, she curated and published four volumes of poetry by Bjorn Halvorsen, and later released her own emotionally charged works including: five poetry chapbooks, a play “Suicide Abridged: A Caged Story”, and two major publications — “Ash & Alchemy” and her upcoming “A Widow’s Journey: Thriving After Jumper’s Teeth.” Each work is a testimony of grief transmuted into art, courage, and healing.

Janay` now tours nationally, blending poetry readings, live performance, and transmutational workshop experiences that honor both her voice and her late husband’s body of work including featuring a novel of his own creation, “Jumpers Teeth.” Her full catalog is available on Amazon.
